We told the king we had HIV
When the young couple found out in 2006 by their HIV infection, it was a shock for both. Choden was just pregnant with her second child. During a routine examination, the infection was found.
In Bhutan in 2006 there were barely offical figures available to those infected with HIV, there was great ignorance of the routes of infection and particularly the fear of stigmatization was large. The young couple decided not to tell anyone of the infection.
